Namaste Melam - Chelmsford

The Chelmsford Centre of Navadhara School of Music London aka “Namaste Melam” is a vibrant initiative founded by a passionate group of music enthusiasts. The initiative has been taken as dream project by a community family group “Namaste Chelmsford”. The leadership and tutelage of Vinod Navadhara brought the dream come true for the group. Eventually, the group started becoming an integral part of the British cultural diversity in the Chelmsford city.  
Dedicated to preserving and promoting Chenda Melam, the centre provides structured training in Chenda, Valamthala Chenda, and Ilathalam for learners of all skill levels.
Open to children (10-18 years-boys and girls), men and women; the sessions offer a welcoming space for anyone eager to explore the rhythmic traditions of Kerala. Classes are held twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, providing a structured learning experience in a supportive community.
We invite the enthusiasts from Chelmsford and surrounding areas, including Billericay, Brentwood, Basildon, Witham, Maldon, Braintree, and Harlow, to join us in learning this unique percussion art form. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn, connect, and perform as part of a growing cultural movement in the UK.
