ABOUT US

OUR STORY

A global community rooted in Indian tradition, Navadhara keeps classical rhythms alive for the next generation.

Navadhara School of Music was founded by the accomplished percussionist Sri. Vinod Navadhara (Vinodkumar Sukumaran), whose musical journey began in Kerala at the age of nine under the guidance of esteemed masters. Rooted in the traditions of Tabla, Mridangam, and Chenda, his early years at Poonjar Navadhara shaped both his artistry and leadership. After relocating to the UK in 2012, Vinod carried these rhythms across borders, dedicating himself to teaching, performing, and preserving South Indian percussion for new generations.

Today, Navadhara is more than a music school. It is a cultural bridge connecting children and Indian communities to their roots through rhythm, discipline, and shared heritage. With over 500 students nurtured across the UK and landmark performances such as the London Olympics Torch Rally and the Queen’s New Year Parade, Navadhara continues to unite generations through traditional Indian percussion. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to keep the spirit of our music alive, relevant, and resonant across the world.
